These artworks are inspired by some of my favourite places; from Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, the beaches of Sutherland in the north, Fife coastal towns and harbours and Kircubright in the south as well as some of the historic closer to home (Stirling, Falkirk, Linlithgow, Culross and Dunfermline)
Here images are made through collagraph and drawing, inspired by classical artworks in a theme linked perceptions of beauty (not always mine) and sometimes a comment on consumerism. This theme links "Silver", an exhibition to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Fife Dunfermline Printmakers Workshop.
My etchings reflect journeys throughout Scotland, the most recent series are inspired by Falkirk (where i was born) and I have an ongoing passion for the Scottish islands especially Tiree. I was taught etching at art school and while I have little love affairs with all sorts of other printmaking media I always come back to this.
